Research

A lot of studies have investigated reading processes and their acquisition but few concern the initial steps of letter recognition. Letter recognition is generally considered as a strictly visual process, based on elementary feature extraction. However, recent data suggest that motor knowledge might also contribute to this process. The aim of my PhD research is to clarify the role of grapho-motor skills in letter recognition.
