We are happy to welcome back Peter Simor, this time with a permanent position as FNRS-F.R.S. Chercheur Qualifié!
Péter will continue his work on sleep, and continue his focus on dreaming, processing of emotional information and the neurophysiological aspects of sleeping and different sleep needs (or chronotypes). With his new position, he will extend his work to daydreaming, or mind wandering, as he explains in this short video. He hypothesizes that contrary to common perception, mind wandering improves memory for previously received information, challenging the view that e.g. children who daydream in school are just letting their minds wander out of the classroom.
Péter is already an active collaborator of the CRCN, with several research stays and a MSCA Cofund position at the UR2NF.
Congratulations Péter, we are happy to have you back, and this time for good!
