I am a PhD student working on computational models of consciousness.

I have studied physics in Heidelberg, where I devised a temporal phase retrieval algorithm for x-ray quantum optics at the MPI for Nuclear Physics.

For my master thesis, I worked on medical image segmentation and image style transfer using deep learning at the University Hospital Mannheim.

Towards the end of my studies, I joined the SmartStart 1 training program in computational neuroscience.

My goal for this PhD is to design testable machine learning-based instantiations of models of consciousness. I am planning to test these models with psychological paradigms which access the threshold of conscious processing, such as subliminal priming, the attentional blink or change blindness.
