Bert Windey is a PhD student funded by the FNRS. He uses psychophysics and brain imaging to examine the nature of visual experience and the neural mechanisms that drive visual experience. Specifically we work on whether conscious experience is graded or dichotomous and which brain regions are the neural correlates of consciousness. He is also interested in theoretical work on the role of metarepresentations in conscious experience. Additionally, he investigates what different subjective measures of consciousness are measuring exactly.
