Émilie Lacroix works at the intersection of clinical neuropsychology and digital assessment, studying how sensory impairments affect cognition in patients.
She has developed and validated several new measures, such as the VSAD, the NVI and OpenTUG, to translate these questions into digital, ecologically valid instruments. She is particularly interested in movement analysis, and applies gait and pose-estimation methods to capture cognitive markers that standard tests overlook.
Her current research interests focus on the built and natural environment, examining how urban greenery, thermal comfort and exposure to nature shape stress, well-being and cognitive functioning.
She collaborates notably within the INTERREG Forest4youth project and the NeuroXRehab COST Action.
Ask her about a tangled HDMI cable, a crashed Excel file, or the bird currently making a racket outside her office, and she’ll have a confident answer for at least two of the three.
