Working memory refers to our ability to temporarily maintain and process information. Often, not only the information itself, but also its serial order is crucial for our daily life activities. During my PhD, I investigate the hypothesis that the processing of serial order in verbal working memory shares similar cognitive mechanisms than the processing of space. To this aim, the project includes studies with healthy volunteers as well as brain-lesioned patients presenting deficits of visuo-spatial attention; and studies using behavioral tasks that are combined with prismatic goggles adaptation as well as with transcranial brain stimulation.
