Combining various physiological recordings of evoked activity in the auditory system, we apply an extended version of the classical “Cross-Check Principle” in order to comprehensively evaluate hearing impairment, with or without threshold elevation. We combine classical measurement with original ones developed and validated in our lab. In congenital hereditary cases with identified mutations, the various physiological profiles are confronted with the intimate description of molecular pathophysiology and with the animal model when it is available.
