We are delighted to host Richard Prum, who will give a keynote (followed by Q&A) titled:

 

“Animal Subjectivity, Aesthetic Evolution, and the Origin of Consciousness.”

 

Richard Prum comes from the department of ornithology, ecology and evolutionary biology of Yale University. You may know him for his famous book “The Evolution of Beauty: How Darwin’s Forgotten Theory of Mate Choice Shapes the Animal World—and Us » (2017) where he advocated for a better understanding of the role of sexual selection in evolution. During this talk, we can expect a development of his ideas, and particularly how a sense of subjective aesthetic experience in the evolution of consciousness.
