The rapid technological developments in computer science of the last three years have impacted our workflows and access to information. But for consciousness science in particular, OpenAi and other companies working on artificial intelligence raise particularly important questions. Axel Cleeremans, together with Anil Seth from the University of Sussex and Liad Mudrik from Tel Aviv University just published a lead article in Frontiers in Science, titled Consciousness science: where are we, where are we going, and what if we get there? to discuss the implications of the advances in artificial intelligence on the field of consciousness and adjacent disciplines such as medicine, ethics and technology. The three will discuss the topic together with Lucina Uddin from the University of California, Los Angeles, at the upcoming Frontiers Deep Dive panel. You can find out more about the panel and sign up for the event, held on November 25th, here.
