Stefanie Keulen - The cerebellum, speech and language: an unexpected liaison?

Stefanie Keulen, Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB)

For many years, the cerebellum was seen as governing mainly gait and balance. The structure was never immediately associated with speech and language regulatory functions. In this presentation, I aim to give an overview of on the one hand speech and language impairments that are (directly) relatable to cerebellar or cerebro-cerebellar pathway damage, as well as demonstrate how the cerebellum can be effectively used as a target site for neuromodulatory interventions (tDCS) in the rehabilitation of aphasia.

The meeting will take place in Bertelson room (Bat. D, 10th floor, Solbosch campus, Ixelles) or online https://bit.ly/44ynGU4
